Measure time

As soon as I got the speaker stands in place I had to measure the acoustic response, it turned out about the way I’d planned; not perfect but pretty controlled and the carpet and diffusers will add it’s magic as soon they’re in place.

I went on with painting the speaker stands and the vertical bas trap (the bas trap will work as a bench for my live setups, that’s why it look like a bench). As soon as the paint had dried I filled the stands with sand and mounted the front wall damping panels.

I’ll start with my first clients this week even though the studio isn’t 100% finished, people have been waiting long enough and I can’t let them wait forever. I’ll have to use another DAC for now and before I deliver any finished masters I’ll have to make sure they hold up in another studio but that’s something I’ll have to do with the right DAC before I get used to the new monitors anways, so it’s no biggie.

If you want to measure your own room here’s what to do;  get a measure microphone, there’s both cheap and expensive ones. You’re probably good with a cheaper one to start with (Behringer ECM800 for example).
